Commentary of Kara Daud on Shamsiyah."Binding: Pasteboards faced in laid marbled paper (originally in salmon, dark blue, yellow, blue-green, see envelope flap) with spine, fore-edge flap, and edges/turn-ins in red-brown leather (marbled paper faced, leather edged, framed binding) ; Type II binding (with flap) ; board linings in laid paper ; sewn in green-blue thread, two stations ; worked endbands in green and yellow, fair condition ; overall in poor condition with significant abrasion, staining, some lifting and losses of leather, delamination of boards (especially at corners), significant spine slant (cocked, especially at head), etc.Support: European laid paper in several types ; one type with 12-13 laid lines per cm. (vertical) and chain lines spaced roughly 25 mm. apart (horizontal), lightly burnished ; another type with 11 laid lines per cm.
