Ms. 1014Origin: As appears in colophon on p.524, copied by Muṣṭafá ibn ʻAbd al-Karīm (Mustafa bin Abdülkerim) with transcription of the latter section (al-niṣf al-thānī) completed in 983 [1575 or 6]. As appears in colophon on p.228, transcription of the opening section (and the entire manuscript) completed Rabīʻ II 984 [July 1576]. As explained by the copyist in the colophon for the opening section (p.228), he began the transcription with the second section but was delayed in completing the full work due to difficulty acquiring a copy of the first section from which he could make his copy.Former shelfmark: Mich. Ms. temp. no. 163Binding: Pasteboards covered in deep red leather ; Type III binding (without flap) ; lower doublure in brown leather, upper pastedown / flyleaf (now affixed to opening leaf) in pale yellow paper ; upper and lower covers carry stamped and gold-painted scalloped mandorla (filled with vegetal composition, compare Déroche class. OAi 14) and tooled border in gold and black ; sewn in light-pink thread, two stations ; worked chevron endbands in light yellow and light pink, fair condition ; overall in somewhat poor condition with significant staining and abrasion, lifting and losses of leather, etc. ; repairs to spine and board corners in bright red leather, including fill in lower cover.Support: non-European (likely Arab) laid paper with 8 laid lines per cm.
