- This file contains correspondence relating to the succession to the Shaikhdom of Abu Dhabi, 1909 - 1921; and correspondence relating to the succession to the Shaikhdom of Umm al Qawain 1900 - 1929.The main correspondents are: the Residency Agent, Sharjah; Political Resident Persian Gulf; Secretary to the Government of India in the Foreign Department; Shaikh Abdullah bin Qasim al-Thani, Chief of Abu Dhabi; Shaikh Saqar bin Zaid, Chief of Abu Dhabi.Letters discuss the importance of new ruling Shaikhs continuing to adhere to the agreements signed by their forebears with the British concerning maritime peace; also the procedure for gaining this compliance and the delivery of copies of the agreements if necessary.
