- The file contains two letters, dated 14 July 1944 and 20 February 1945, from the Government of India, External Affairs Department, to the Political Resident in the Persian Gulf, Bushire, which were copied to the Political Agent, Bahrain and others, for information. The letters discuss the need to make provision under rules, for the future civil employment status, rank and pay of British and Indian officers of the Indian Medical Department (IMD) serving in the Persian Gulf, following the formation of the Indian Army Medical Corps (IAMC).1 file (5 folios)File papers are arranged chronologically. They are followed by file notes (folio 5), which include a list of the two main file enclosures, by their document reference number and also a simple running number from 1 to 2 that has been written on them in red and encircled.The foliation sequence commences at the cover and terminates at the last folio; these numbers are written in pencil, and can be found in the top right corner of the recto side of each folio.
