Description:
In this letter, which is a true copy signed by Charles Norris, David Anderson Blane reports his departure from Muscat on leave of absence to the Presidency. He goes on to confirm the death of the Wahabee [Wahhabi] Chief, Toorkee bin Saood [Turkī bin ‘Abdullāh Āl Sa‘ūd], and discusses the issue of his successor. Blane then makes a case for a ship of war off Bushire for the protection of British interests at that end of the Gulf.
