- Bible T-S NS 4.3
- Date:
- 6th-7th century
- Description:
- Part of an early (likely Byzantine-era) Torah scroll or scroll of Genesis, containing Genesis 4:14-17; 5:10-18; 5:32-6:7. It is estimated that if the text were only of Genesis, the complete scroll would have been 8-9 metres in length, and that if it was from a scroll of the entire Torah, it would have been approximately 40 metres in length. The parašiyyot differ slightly from the MT and more closely resemble practice at Qumran. Palaeographers differ over the dating of the scroll - between the 5th century and the 8th century.Condition: Torn, holesLayout: 22 lines in 3 columns
