The Plasco Building was a 17-story high-rise in Tehran. It was built in 1962 by the prominent Iranian Jewish businessman Habib Elghanian, and it was named after his plastics company. The building was the tallest building in Iran when it was constructed, and it was considered an iconic landmark of the Tehran skyline. The Plasco building collapsed on January 19, 2017, during a fire.
ساختمان پلاسکو یکی از اولین برج های تجاری تهران بود که در ضلع شرقی چهارراه استانبول قرار داشت. این ساختمان در سال ۱۳۳۹ ساخته شد توسط حبیب الله القانیان ساخته شد و پس از انقلاب مالکیت آن، با اعدام و مصادره ی اموال القانیان، به بنیاد مستضعفان منتقل گردید. ساختمان پلاسکو پس از ۵۶ سال در روز پنجشنبه ۳۰ دی ۱۳۹۵ بر اثر آتشسوزی فرو ریخت.
Advertising in Iranian newspapers was a new phenomenon in the late 1920s. Advertisements introduced Iranians to some other new phenomena such as cars, radio, instant cameras, and the European-style outfit that revolutionized how Iranians lived and interacted with each other. The ads here are selected from the newspapers published between 1926 to 1931.

The ancient city of Bushehr on the Persian gulf, also known as "Bushire" in English, used to be a prosperous and active port for centuries, especially during the 19th century. But by the 1930s the city declined in importance, and many of its buildings were abandoned. The photos here, taken in the early 1970s, show the last remains of Bushehr's traditional architecture.
In May 1887, the American periodical “Harper’s New Monthly Magazine” published an article about a trip from Tehran to Baghdad. The following images are from that article and show the outfits of Iranian women in that period. The photographs show the clothing of different minorities, as well as outfits for indoor and outdoor use and the different seasons.

At the turn of the 20th century, in the popular art and media of the “West,” the "Middle East" was depicted as a mysterious, exotic region. Cliched images such as camels, deserts, half-naked dancing women, and buildings with minarets and domes were ubiquitous in illustrating anything related to Iran or the Middle East.

Discussing her pictures the photographer, Samin Ahmadzadeh, says: "This series was taken from a single location in Tehran on a street famed for its shopping. The movement of people as they negotiate their way through the crowds provided a sense of theater from the everyday. Light from the shop windows illuminates single faces in this flowing crowd, guiding the eye around the picture and allowing a focus on a personal space."
The building that houses Tehran’s Post and Communications Museum today was initially built in 1928 as the Ministry of Post and Telegraph. The architect, Nikolai Markov, was a Russian immigrant who remained in Iran after the October revolution and established himself as one of the main architects of the public buildings and government new institutions.
At the 29th Tehran International Book Fair (4-14 May 2016) the visitors could put on military costume, hold a grenade, and take photos in front of backdrop picture of the war ruins in Syria. The photo-booth was called "The Defenders of the Shrine". IRNA, the publisher of these photographs, describes them as "virtual and spiritual."
سرزمین های خاور میانه، از جمله ایران، در تصور اروپاییان و آمریکاییان قرن نوزدهم و آغاز قرن بیستم دنیایی رازآمیز و رویاگونه تصور می شدند. ایران در تصاویر روی جلد دفترچه های موسیقی و جلد ترانه ها و آثار نمایشی این دوران سرزمینی است با شب هایی زیبا، بناهایی غریب و زنانی «زلف آشفته و خوی کرده و خندان لب و مست».
تبلیغات تجاری در روزنامههای ایرانی سال های آغازین سلطنت رضا شاه پدیده ای جدید بود که پدیده های جدید دیگری را به ایرانیان آن دوران معرفی کرد: اتوموبیل، دوربین عکاسی خانوادگی، لباس های غربی، و محصولاتی از این دست که در شیوه ی زندگی ایرانیان تحولی اساسی ایجاد کرد. آگهی های جمع آوری شده در اینجا از مطبوعات منتشر شده بین سال های ۱۳۰۵ تا ۱۳۱۰هجری شمسی (۱۹۲۶ تا ۱۹۳۱ میلادی) انتخاب شده اند.
عکاس این مجموعه، ثمین احمدزاده، در مورد این تصاویر می گوید: «تمامی عکس های این مجموعه را از یک نقطه در خیابانی در تهران گرفتم که محل خرید مردم است. حرکت مردم، در حالی که سعی می کنند از میان یکدیگر بگذرند احساس بازی در نمایشی روزانه را می داد. در این تصاویر نور ویترین مغازه ها چهره های افراد در میان جمعیت در حال حرکت را روشن می کند و تابش این نور چشم را در تصویر می چرخاند و توجه بیننده را به فضای شخصی آدم ها معطوف می کند.»
تصاویر زیر از خانواده های ارمنی اصفهان احتمالا در سال های دهه ی بیست یا سی میلادی (دوران رضا شاه) به وسیله ی میناس پاتکرهانیان ماکرتیک به منظور استفاده در مدارک مربوط به گذرنامه کرفته شده اند.
در ماه مه ۱۸۸۷ میلادی ماهنامه هارپرز مقاله ای درباره سفر از تهران تا بغداد منتشر کرد. تصاویر زیر تعدادی از گراورهایی هستند که در آن شماره منتشر شده اند و لباس زنان ایرانی مسلمان، ارمنی، و زرتشتی و همچنین لباس زنان ایرانی را در خانه و خارج از خانه، و در تابستان و زمستان نشان می دهند.
بنایی که امروزه موزه ی پست خوانده می شود ساختمانی است که در سال ۱۹۲۸ میلادی (۱۳۰۷ شمسی) برای وزارت تازه تاسیس پست و تلگراف ساخته شد. معمار این بنا مهاجری روس به نام نیکلای مارکف بود که معمار بسیاری از بناهای دولتی و عمومی دیگر دوران رضا شاه نیز هست.
در نمایشگاه بین المللی کتاب تهران در سال ۱۳۹۵ بازدیدکنندگان می توانستند در غرفه ی عکس «شهدای مدافعان حرم» با پوشیدن لباس و تجهیزات نظامی در مقابل تصویری از ویرانه های شهری در سوریه عکس یادگاری بگیرند. خبرگزاری جمهوری اسلامی که ناشر این تصاویر است این عکس ها را «مجازی و معنوی» توصیف می کند.
