Rectangular piece with trimmed/cut corners. Five lines of Hebrew script plus border of Hebrew script. Has two small attached rings on back through which white cord runs.
Gold amulet in the form of a crescent (or horns) with suspension loop. The loop was bent out of a broad strip of sheet, of which the edges had been folded over and soldered down to give a finish; it is soldered into slits carved into the solid gold crescent. The latter was cast and its surface has a slightly frosted look. The materials contains a speck of hard white metal.
Condition: Very good. The loop is very much worn; the amulet was probably worn during the owner’s lifetime.

Gold amulet with a cloissone inlay of lapis lazuli, turquoise, and steatite representing a soul in the form of a human-headed bird. Viewed from below the piece displays a human head and bird’s body modelled in the round in gold. This body is attached to outstretched wings made of a sheet of gold. Attached to each wing is an eyelet made of a strip of gold. The lower part of the underside of the tail has an inlay pattern representing five feathers (lapis-turquoise-steatite-turquoise-lapis). Seen from above the sheet of gold is inlayed to represent a feather pattern which is broken up into areas of dark and light blue (lapis and turquoise) with a brown curving strip across the shoulder.
Condition: One end of one of the eyelets loose; one steatite inlay missing.
Flat decorative object, which was nice circular but is now broken. The inner circle has a hole through the middle surrounded by floral-type decoration. Four pieces project out to connect to outer ring, Only half of which now exists.
